The Music & Arts Summer School 2016 programme has been launched and information will be coming soon to young musicians and parents/carers via their instrumental teacher and the new BHMA Summer School website, which goes live later this month.
21 courses will take place between 29 June and 29 July, with a programme that includes courses for children with no prior experience through to more advanced young musicians.
The range of courses are designed for pupils in year 2 to 11 and include single-instrument Fun Days, introductory workshops and longer courses for ensembles and bands. You can gain an Arts Award, try out music technology and singing or even build a band in a week as you work towards your first gig!
‘Summer School is always a popular event, with 400 children and young people in they city coming together to make music,’ said Emma Collins, who leads the Summer School programme at BHMA. ‘It’s a great opportunity to meet other young musicians while further developing your musical skills. Summer School is also a fantastic time for celebration and recongnising achievement, with every course leading to a performance.’
More information can be found on the Summer Schools pages of the BHMA website.
