Music professionals - Specialist training days

Sunday 30 April 2017, 10.00h – 16.00h Laban Building, Creekside, London SE8 3DZ Lunch and coffee/tea included

Needing some inspiration for your vocal group work and new group singing ideas to incorporate into your practice? This one-day course, led by internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist and music educator Pete Churchill, is the singing boost you need!

This training day will concentrate on the techniques of teaching songs by ear, focusing specifically on the most efficient ways of learning by ear and also on the most appropriate material to use. Participants will gain strategies for preparing and delivering songs in unison and simple harmony without notation and within the time restraints of a typical lesson.

Whatever your level of experience and vocal skill, this practical session will arm you with new ideas, techniques, inspiration, and confidence to take back to your classroom, teaching practice, or workshop session.

An optional follow-on group Skype session with Pete after the training course is offered to all trainees and included as part of the fee.

Are you looking for creative, affordable, and easy ways to incorporate technology into your own teaching or workshop practice?

Delivered by Gawain Hewitt, this training day will look at how free, low cost and readily accessible technology can be incorporated into your own work, using everyday devices such as iPhones and iPads and free software on computers. The day will equip you with new ideas on using technology that doesn't cost the earth and you can use to enhance your classroom, teaching practice, or workshop setting.

Delegates should bring an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, some headphones, a laptop (if possible), and an instrument if you play one (optional).
